Welcome to the culinary gem of Bangkok: Mokkori Silom Ramen. Nestled in the heart of the vibrant Suriya Wong district, this ramen restaurant is a fusion of tradition and innovation, brought to life by Suzuki Norio, a metamorphosed sarariman turned chef and actor. The motto, “Dreams Aren’t Meant for Looking at,” encapsulates not only Suzuki-san's journey but also the vibrancy of the dishes served here.
As you step inside this cozy noodle house, the warm ambiance and wood-paneled walls greet you, adorned with autographed memorabilia from celebrities, adding a unique charm. The restaurant offers a menu that caters to all, from satisfying carnivorous cravings to delightful vegan options, ensuring everyone gets a taste of authentic Japanese fare.
Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the ramen. The Shoyu Miso broth stands out with its perfect balance of savory and tangy flavors, enveloping your taste buds in a warm embrace without being overpowering. Diners rave about the charcoal-grilled chashu, a highlight that would make any food lover swoon. Rich Akers’ vibrant description of the chashu being thick enough for a rap video perfectly captures its stunning presentation and deliciousness.
Miso Aburi Chashu-men is a customer favorite, noted for its intensity and fragrance, while the ramen noodles maintain a delightful al-dente texture—chewy but never chalky. This dish exemplifies culinary mastery, harmonizing each element on your palate. We’ve also heard whispers of the grilled eggplants, which may sound simple but come with a taste that is nothing short of extraordinary.
Service at Mokkori is marked by warm hospitality, drawing you deeper into the experience. Whether you're savoring rich pork bone broth or exploring delicious vegan starters like croquettes with delectable dipping sauces, you will feel embraced by the local vibe reminiscent of Japan’s bustling ramen shops. Rich flavors, generous portions, and an inviting atmosphere make this restaurant a must-visit culinary destination.

Check out this incredible bowl of ramen. You ever seen chashu like this? Pork this thick should be in a rap video. Char-grilled chashu, juicy smokey, and rich. Egg noodles just this side of al-dente, perfectly chewy but nowhere near chalky. The shoyu miso broth was... Shoyu-y and miso-y in even proportion. Sorry, I'm no ramen expert. I just looked for the thumbs up sign and pointed confidently and I was not disappointed. I can tell you it was both light and filling. Tangy, savory, and deeply satisfying. The restaurant is owned and operated by Suzuki Norio who left a life as a sarariman in Japan to become an actor and chef. The walls of this wood paneled noodle house are covered in autographed photos of Suzuki-san with actors such as the late Michael Clarke Duncan and Game of Thrones actor Michiel Huisman, and inexplicably, cartoons of the actor/chef as a tomato or an octopus. In his own words: “Dreams Aren’t Meant for Looking at” This ramen isn't either.

I’ve had some great Ramen over the years, both here and in Japan but this ranks among the very best of them. My favorite is the Miso Aburi Chashu-men, the broth was intense and fragrant without being overpowering, the ramen noodles were nice but the real star was the charcoal grilled Chashu! One of my main complaint about ramen is that sometimes, the pork is too fatty, however, the meat to fat ratio here is perfect, and that charcoal-grilled smell genuinely impressed me. The price, while not cheap, is reasonable with the huge portion they give you, and as for the service, I have no complaints. Highly recommended

The shoyu ramen and pork bone broth are very delicious. The soup is rich and well-balanced, providing a perfectly harmonious flavor. The ramen noodles have a great texture, and the chashu pork is tender, complementing the broth nicely. The service is attentive and friendly, making for a great dining experience

It was fantastic to find a Japanese restaurant with a good selection of vegan options. The croquette had a delicious dipping sauce & the kimchi with rice was excellent. The restaurant feels like a local restaurant in Japan. Overall, a really fun vibe. There is also another page of vegetarian options which contain egg but no meat products.

Delicious food in an excellent environment. The Japanese chef takes great care of his customers and food. I had kimchi yakisoba with seafood -- a bit experimental and it was absolutely delicious. My partner's ramen also looked really good.
